Founded by Gayatri Kaul, a small-town girl from Kashmir, Swadesh was born from an emotional connection to a land known for its beauty, artistry, and soul.
Growing up amidst the serene valleys and rich artisanal heritage of Kashmir, Gayatri was surrounded by stories woven into fabrics, passed through generations, and preserved in the skilled hands of artisans.
For Gayatri, craftsmanship is a language that connects people, cultures, and generations. Swadesh was created to preserve Indian artistry while presenting it through modern and meaningful design.
